Practically Perfect Pork Chops!! Perfect for a Sunday Dinner! Posted on 11 Feb 20:06 , 0 comments

A few years ago I became obsessed with trying to make pork chops! They ALWAYS came out dry and tough.  So I started scouring recipe sites for ideas on how to improve them. I found this recipe, embellished it a little and this is what I came up with. We love these pork chops!  So I'm going to share with you.

Here we go:

4-5 pork chops ( I like bone in)

1 onion sliced

2-3 apples cored and wedged

1 cup chicken stock

6 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 Tablespoon butter

1-2 tsp. dry thyme.

First brown pork chops on either side. (I use a little bacon drippings in the pan)

Remove from pan and place into a dutch oven.

Deglaze pan with 1 cup chicken stock and 6 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar ( I know it sounds weird, trust me it isn't). Add 1 Tablespoon butter (or bacon drippings) and stir til melted. Pour over chops.

While chops are browning cut up your onion and apples. Put on top of the chops and sprinkle with dry thyme. I don't know what it is but the combo of the thyme and the apple and onion is out of this world!  It should look like this.

Now put on the lid and put into the oven at 350 for two hours.

About 1/2 hour before finished make some rice (try using Chicken stock instead of water for a more flavorful rice) and then about 5 minutes before done make some steamed broccoli. When it comes out of the oven it will look like this and it will smell heavenly. It's super delicious and fork tender.

Now serve up a portion and see that juice on the bottom of the pan, drizzle it over your rice! It is amazing!

Here you go! Practically Perfect Pork Chops! I like to take a bite of pork chop with a little apple and a little onion on each bite. IT'S SOOOO GOOD!!

So easy and so delicious! Go give it a try!

p.s. Perry loves these, so you don't have to feel sorry for him any more!!
